If you don't have the outside space, you can set up a clothesline in your basement or in another room, or get creative with your drying, like me. I don't have outdoor drying space - or a basement - so in my small loft apartment I had to use every inch of my laundry area real estate. The collapsible drying rack in lieu of a clothesline was fine (I didn't like that it wobbled) and even more so after I secured the rack to the walls with screws and bendable wire. I also have hooks around on the walls for drying of clothes on clothes hangers.

Going Green - Creative Drying
Drying your laundry outside in plain sight might feel slightly scandalous, but we're going green - we're all adjusting and maybe being scandalous here is a good thing. According to The Green Guide, dryers emit an average of 1,440 pounds of carbon dioxide annually. Another environmental group estimates that electric dryers suck up 6 to 10 percent of residential energy use.

I wanted my clothes to wash and dry within their alotted space and with my little creative drying setup, I'm good.
