Magazine, February 2008,
hairstylist Bob Recine
flatironed the model's hair,
coaxing the ends straight up,
then anchored a jeweled
brooch with bobby pins.

and-gold brooch with

The spring fashion runways were filled with blooms of all shapes, sizes and colors that had one thing in common: a carefree attitude inspired by the Haight-Ashbury Bohemians.
- Don't arrange the hair around the flower. The flower is almost a charming afterthought.
- Play with various colors and you'll see that you can get away with things you can't get away with in bows and ribbons.
- Flowers can soften pulled-back, severe hair and make long, loose hair even more romantic.
- Orchids and roses with their elegance speak refined (versus daisies or baby's breath, too hippie or too sweet).
- Flowers are probably best reserved for weekends and evenings.
