Her cute online shop offers swell stuff for mutts as well as their pedigree'd peers. The shop is closely aligned with dog rescue and adoption. An excerpt of a fun interview regarding dogs follows:

Ms. Close: How did your present dogs come into your life?

Amanda: Both of our dogs were picked up as strays. Roxy was standing at the side of the road in pouring rain and Muttley was dodging Los Angeles rush hour traffic.

Ms. Close: What kind of cars would your dogs drive?

Amanda: Muttley would have a speedy convertible. Roxy, a Land Rover for rescue work.

I love these photos from Paradise Pet Hotel showing dogs at play. They say the best ideas come from solving a problem and if you're a dog lover pet hotels is a solution sorely long in coming. Call us freaks, but we love our gerkus dogs. This isn't the first time I've written about these amusement park level fun places for dogs. I'm so jazzed over them! The old style dog kennels with their rows of cages make me and my gerk dog Christopher cringe. Ack!

My Lab/Great Dane Christopher has numerous handkerchiefs to choose from. Once that day's handkerchief is tied and ready, he walks into the opening. He knows that's his kerchief. He knows what's cool.
