Dog-Gone Cute, Dog Of The Month & The Marine Dog)

I'm thinking this fetish with our puppies is an American trait. From Scratch sells American Dog Park Totes for $25.. They say the Dog Park Totes are cute, fun and practical, featuring dog runs of the various American cities (Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City) and that each tote comes with an organic souvenir dog treat depicting that city.

Maybe they should be told about Albuquerque, New Mexico - that American city seems to be really dog friendly, having the highest number of dog parks per capita (that's the dog rumor at least). My personal favorite is Rio Grande Triangle Park.

I'm a dog lover, big time, letting mine sleep at the foot of my bed and he's dressed daily in one of his various scarves. He only wears scarves that look good with his golden color coat and his big brown eyes, of course and bein' a big guy, the scarves can't be too girly. Our morning ritual includes picking out that day's selection, he puts his head through the knotted opening and then out to play.

For the fashionable and unique dog, Spoiled Canine Dog Boutique offers designer dog beds and assorted upscale pup n'stuff, the Hepburn Bed shown here (was recently featured in Something Beautiful interior design journal). That upholstered chaise-like bed runs approximately $1400. The shop also sponsors the Dog Of The Month Contest. (To enter the Contest, send your dog photos to spoiledcanine@yahoo.com) and check their Dog Blog for details/rules.

Christopher (my dog) and I haven't ever participated in any contests but we can hold our own at dog frisbee. That's normal stuff.

This dog thing seems to be American and evidently also crosses continents with us. Recently Marine Maj. Brian Dennis was deployed to Iraq as part of the military team building infrastructure along the Syria-Iraq border and training Iraqi forces to take over and noticed a dog, he believed it to be german shephard border collie mix. It is a special American story; take a few minutes and read about the marine's episode with the dog which of course is now home with him in San Diego. The stuff inbetween though is why we love dogs, I think. Marine In Iraq Rescues Dog.
